The Schluchsee is Germany's highest reservoir (930 metres above sea level), formed from a natural glacial lake by the construction of a dam in 1932. It is the largest lake in the Black Forest; 7.3km long, 1.4 km wide, and some 18  foot-blistering km of shoreline. Alamanicus knows that it's foot-blistering because he walked it one weekend in May.
